Det er facinerende å se jorden ovenfra, spesielt med tanke på at hele jordens overflate er fotografert, og ikke minst hvor nøyaktige, klare, og detaljrike bildene er. Flotte og sterke farger. Og vite at de et tatt fra verdensrommet er helt utrolig. Greitnok noe skeptisk blir en også, da man hvorsomhelst kan bli kikket ned på.

Digital Globe har lagt ut et hundretalls satelittbilder fra hele verden. I hovedsak byer og tettesteder, ifra København til Irak, England til Kina. Oversiktsbilde over hele London til damanlegg i Sandouping, Yichang, i Kina (se bildet over). De har også et eget galleri fra Tsunamiområdet. Det er utrolig å se på bildene, og hvordan man kan se detaljer i bildene.

Google Earth er også en fin måte å se Hele jorden på. Programmet er foreløpig bare i Beta versjon (testversjon), men fungerer bra. Her kan du zoom’e inn på hele jordkloden, og noen av de største byene kan man se passe detaljrik. Og i de større byene kan men få info om spisesteder osv på bildet. Du bør ha svært bra skjermkort for å få bra utnytte av G.Earth.

NASA Visible Earth er en flott bildebase med tusener av høyopppløselige bilder til ulike formål. Satelittbilder, klimabilder, osv osv. De har sortert bildene i alle verdens Land, til ulike formål, og til ulike typer bilder. Spennende å se. Bør ha bredband da bildene er av svært høy filstørrelse. Sidene er enkel og oversiktlig og innehar en søkemotor. Ha en fin reise! =)
